Land reform

There is no more serious issue post revolution anywhere than land reform.

Emilio Zapata said:
"the land belongs to him who works it with his hands," 

Over centuries indigenous Mexicans had been alienated from their lands and huge haciendas established.

At the end of the last blog post I included this photo of a wide field with young corn growing.

Cossio del Pomar's book includes this wonderful description of a land reform meeting in the 1930s.

of course, when I say nothing more difficult than land reform
there's also the question of who gets the jobs...
