Here are some photos from our rooftop, taken by Helen.

apparently the washing machine kept breaking down, but this is magic if you do it every day or so |

and the sun and breeze and hot roof dry things swiftly |

while this is all around, it's so invigorating |

the surrounding rooftops are places with a life of their own... place of activity, recreation, hobbies, chores, pets, artefacts... quite separate from life at street level in this remarkable town |

Thanks for sharing your photos and your thoughts about Guanajuato! It seems like you are having a good time here. My husband and I have lived in Guanajuato for nearly 12 years now and wouldn't live anywhere else.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your stay!
And, thanks for your helpful comments on Trip Advisor! That's where I found the link to your blog.
Cindi aka MexCindi on Trip Advisor
thanks Cindi
ReplyDeleteYour input at Tripadvisor was wonderful encouragement to us to come here... :-)
Great! I'm glad I was able to help you in some way.
ReplyDeleteI see that you have a link to Rochelle Cashden's blog. If you didn't know, I'm sorry to tell you that she passed away recently after surgery in the USA. She was quite active here in Guanajuato and will be greatly missed.
Glad you had a good time in Guanajuato! Hope you can come back for another visit.
Happy travels!
Cindi
Thank you Cindi
DeleteSo sorry to hear about Rochelle. We had emailed her, hoping to meet. Such a wonderful free spirit, from her writing. I had a sense of common ground in various ways.
Perhaps you could pick up the idea of her blog. You would, I'm sure, write something which brings daily, or weekly, events to life. News inwards for those on the outside who are delighted to discover the local.
:-)
Cindi, I've now revised the link. And I have also updated this February blog entry. Thanks again for letting us know.
